二、 研究方向

运用群体遗传学理论和基因组学技术,着重解析反刍家畜的遗传资源、关键性状变异及分子机制,促进了对牛羊的遗传解析和育种进展。构建了世界上首个绵羊和山羊的参考基因组和泛基因组,并对世界主要牛羊品种的SNP和CNV变异信息和频率进行了系统整理分析,构建了家畜遗传变异数据库http://animal.nwsuaf.edu.cn/,解析出构成瘤胃壁的特异基因家族和反刍动物特有的脂类合成代谢途径,部分解释了瘤胃和羊毛脂产生的遗传基础,发表在2014年的Science杂志。通过创新生物信息学分析方法,首次将光学图谱用于基因组组装和进行全基因组结构变异的关联分析,在Nature Biotechnology杂志发表论文两篇。在2019年从遗传学角度首次提出牛羊鹿的角具有相同的细胞起源—头部神经脊干细胞,为无角牛、羊的育种提供了理论基础和关键靶基因,以封面论文发表在Science杂志上。系统解析了世界牛羊品种的遗传来源,鉴定出关键抗病基因MUC6,发表在Nature Communications、Science Advances等杂志上。近五年来,以通讯作者发表论文 60余篇,被引用4000余次。研究成果入选2019年“中国生命科学十大进展”和2020年中国农业科学重大进展。
