Basic information

HupingXue received his PhD from Fudan Universityin China. He studied at McGill University from 2009 to 2011 and started to work in 2012at the College of Animal Science and Technology, Northwest A&F University. He is now a professor,PhD supervisor,evaluatingexpert of NSFC, communication review expert for dissertations of the Ministry of Education in China, delegate to the national genetics congress, standing member of Shaanxi Pharmacological Society and member of Chinese society of microbiology.

Research direction and courses offered

Research Direction: With the comprehensive implementation of the policy of "Antibiotics are prohibited in feeding and restricted in breeding", it is urgent to develop antibiotic substitutes. Focusing on the needs, we are committed to the research of antimicrobial peptides:(1) Mining new antimicrobial peptides and antibacterial agents from natural products, and reforming them; (2) The mechanism of antimicrobial peptides/antibiotics was elucidated by using Staphylococcus aureus as target bacteria; (3) Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, lactic acid bacteria and Pichia pastoris were used as expression hosts to construct high expression system of antimicrobial peptides and achieve large-scale production of antimicrobial peptides.

His research group has instruments and equipment worth 2 million dollar, related to molecular biology, cell biology and microbiology research.

Academic achievements

He has published 20 SCI articles, with a Scopus H-index as 10. The highest impact factor of hispublished article is 16.971, and a singlearticle with the highest number of citations is 118 times.
